LoadCentral Webtool Locking

Thursday, December 21st, 2006

Most of you probably were surprised with the sudden downtime of LoadCentral system last night. It began sometime around 5pm yesterday. Then I received a notification from LoadCentral about a major system upgrade. It seems the system upgrade has something to do with a security feature set by LoadCentral to lock webtool via mobile phone.

The email message below which I received a couple of hours ago provides detailed information regarding the new security feature. So kindly make time to read it.

Dear Partner,

We have successfully uploaded last night the web tool locking feature of the system. All users of the LoadCentral web tool who have registered a mobile number as their account can deny any unauthorized access by simply sending a text message to LoadCentral access numbers. This is particularly useful for accounts that have no static IP addresses and are currently set on dynamic IP. At the end of the day, a dealer, sub-dealer or retailer can lock his web tool so even if the username and password were compromised, nobody will be able to access the account thru the web. Periodic changing of password is still a good practice though.

To lock the web tool, please type:

LockPassword

Send to LoadCentral access number.

Dealer/Sub-Dealer/Retailer will receive a confirmation message from the system:

LoadCentral: Weblock status was successfully changed. Your account is now locked.

To unlock the web tool, please type:

UnlockPassword

Send to LoadCentral access number.

Dealer/Sub-Dealer/Retailer will receive a confirmation message from the system:

LoadCentral: Weblock status was successfully changed. Your account is now unlocked.

Please inform your sub-dealers and retailers.

Merry Christmas!

For those who were greatly inconvenienced by the system downtime last night and lack of advance notification, I apologize on behalf of LoadCentral.

LoadCentral System Upgrade

Wednesday, September 6th, 2006

Please be advised of the following message from the General Manager of LoadCentral:

We will have a system upgrade tomorrow, 7 September, at 9 pm. The platform will be offline for about an hour (9:00 to 10:00 pm).

Our SMS gateway will be expanded and additional out-going numbers will be installed. Hopefully, we could already deploy the reversal logs as well.

Please note that the LoadCentral system upgrade has no connection with the web host migration of this information website.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to post a comment or send me a message.

Information site migration

Monday, September 4th, 2006

To all clients and visitors,

I have initiated my plans in migrating the site content of loadcentral.shannelle.net and other websites with shannelle.net addresses to a new webhost provider. I hope for your patience and understanding for any access problem you may encounter during this period of transition.

Please be aware that this migration will not in anyway affect your access to the LoadCentral system since LoadCentral system is directly managed and handled by LoadCentral/Uniwiz.

So as not to cause you confusion, please bear in mind that the names Shannelle.net and LoadCentral are different entities. LoadCentral is a product/service by Uniwiz and Shannelle.net is a LoadCentral dealer.

Please be assured that migration of this information site should be done by 12 September 2006.

System will be offline for 3 hours

Sunday, June 18th, 2006

Advisory from LoadCentral Webtool:

To our valued Dealers, Sub-Dealers and Retailers: LoadCentral will be offline on Sunday, June 18,2006 from 5:00PM to 9:00PM. Additional equipments will be deployed on our new Data Center.

Technical Difficulties

Friday, May 26th, 2006

I got the following notification from the General Manager:

LoadCentral is still experiencing technical difficulties. Kindly bear with us. Please inform your subdealers and retailers.

Update: System is still down. Hotline informed me that they’re trying to restore the service within the day.

Update: System went back online within that day. My apologies for lack of update.
